Dow Names Rob Cotton Applications Technology Leader for Food and Specialty Packaging
Houston, TX - January 17, 2006 The Dow Chemical Company announced today that Rob Cotton has been named North American Applications Technology Leader for Food and Specialty Packaging for Dow's Plastics business. In this position, Cotton will support customers by applying Dow's technology expertise to address current and emerging business needs. "Rob has made significant contributions to the Food and Specialty Packaging business here at Dow, including enhanced polyethylenes for extrusion coating, a high density polyethylene resin for barrier applications and high stiffness/toughness grades of polypropylene for cast film," said Tomas Fernandez, North America Group Leader, Flexible Packaging and Films, in the Plastics business of The Dow Chemical Company. "His experience and keen technological insight will advance our efforts to provide timely, advantaged technology solutions to our customers." With his new position, Cotton becomes a member of the market management team for Food and Specialty Packaging. Cotton joined the company in 1991 as a member of the Vinyl Choloride manufacturing team. In 1996, he moved to Plastics Technical Service and Development, then to Food and Specialty Packaging in 1998. Cotton has a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University.
